Events

Long before vintage became the go-to fashion choice, we were already throwing vintage clothing parties in Amsterdam.

Klerenbende Like so many great ideas, Klerenbende started small: in the living room of one of our closest friends, Marc. On the eve of a themed festival, we decided to bring along some vintage clothing so we could dive into the party scene in full costume.

The idea caught on. At the next edition, more friends joined in. One event later, the house was packed. It turned into a full-on 'klerenbende'. What started as a spontaneous idea quickly grew into a full-on dress-up party. It hád to become a party. In 2011, Marc starter to look for locations and so we launched Klerenbende: a new kind of event where vintage and music came together. With just an entry ticket, guests could take home as much vintage as they liked.

Kris Kross Amsterdam, Primo Disco, Sanka Soundsystem and many more DJ's set the mood behind the decks, spinning sets that made it impossible not to dance. The atmosphere was creative and always full of energy. Almost every edition sold out. Venues like Chicago Social Club and several other Amsterdam clubs, such as Club NYX, Club Up / De Kring and Knijn Bowling made the party even more legendary.

Klerenbende wasn't just a party, it captured something rare for its time: it became a community moment where people came together to celebrate fashion in its most expressive and accessible form.

Kilosale Our vintage kilo sale event, first launched in 2009 with its very first edition in England. Not long after, it expanded to the Netherlands, where it quickly gained a loyal following. The concept was simple yet unique back then: selling vintage clothing by weigh for €15 per kilo. This made it easy for visitors to walk away with special pieces for very little money.

The venues were just as unique as the clothes, from the Chicago Social Club to the beer factory at the Rokin and Club Claire at Rembrandtplein in Amsterdam. Each location was filled with racks of vintage, and crowds of people would line up to hunt for hidden gems. The event even got picked up by local radio stations.

Kilosale played a key role in the Dutch vintage scene for years.

Festivals Over the years, we’ve brought our concept to countless festivals and events. Just to name a few: at the motocross/music festival Zwarte Cross, we set up a massive stall packed with vintage (theatrical) pieces, classic leather biker jackets and rugged boots.

We went all out at markets like the Strawberry Earth Fair and the Hippie Market at Roest, showcasing stalls full of vintage (lammy) coats, boots, sweaters, and rugs.

At Modefabriek in the RAI, we launched our very own 'Kilo Knaller Shop', complete with an oversized scale, shopping carts filled to the brim, sealed bundles of clothing, and a bathtub of dye in the center. Visitors were surprised by our 'kilo knallers': carefully curated clothing vacuum-packed like supermarket goods. Through natural dye workshops and stories about reuse, we raised awareness about the real impact of fashion choices.
